Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Can anyone remember what was the term used for the system of callsigns such as Bluebell, Ironsides etc
  2. Weren't they called appointment titles?
  3. Thanks for the link - just what Starlight ordered.

  5. and 'arm indicators'

appointment titles refer to an individual - sunray, sunray minor, kestrel, seagull etc
arm indicator refers to capbadge - foxhound (inf), ironside (RAC), Holdfast (RE) etc
