Lunchtime news ran a trailer for tonights episode. Features Duke of Lancs.
Looking forward to this this evening.

As an aside, I met Mike Griffiths years ago, when he was a Company Comd at DKD; he was an outstanding officer then and came across exceptionally well on the TV today.

Is this the unit and tour that met with some strong words from Fally and others ? Be interesting to see their reaction to the program.

That was an emotional watch, to say the least.

I was his clerk for 2 years. Really nice bloke. Heartbreaking to see him crying at the end of the programme.

Tough viewing but I pissed myself during the opening bits of the programme when one tom simply said: "Well I wouldn't come here for a ****ing holiday!'

Quality TV and desperately sad.

An excellent episode... This is what I'd pay the licence fee for.

Wonderfull to see a proper "fly on the wall" documentory without the usual crap from the media.
Brave lads and lasses, as are all past and present.

Should be compulsory watching for all politicians, mandarins and civil servants involved with both the Defence and Treasury departments

Moving stuff

Damn good viewing & was getting rather dusty at times.

That was very hard to watch, especially Brigadier Mike's last piece to camera.

Notice, the didn't ask if it was worth it, but was it a worthy cause. I have a feeling if you asked him directly if it was worth it he might not toe the party line.

My heart went out to the man. He's a good guy and its seems his lad was a good leader too, if his blokes reactions were anything to go by.

Great episode, moving and funny in parts. Brigadier Griffiths was an inspiration.

The one guy that said "imagine your family being told your son has been squashed by a helicopter" classic!

And teenagers. Watched it with my two, barely a word said after the first 10 minutes. It's hit home to them that a good friend of ours may be out there in a short while.

Yes it was, as you tend to forget that officers that senior have feelings just like the rest of us.
