BBC Radio York - 15 Bde Article

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Did anyone catch the Radio York show this morning regarding the possibility of 15 bde being one of the two regional brigades to be cut following SDSR?

Who did they interview, what was said etc?

Or a link to the show if anyone can find one.

  2. Speculation, speculation. Assuming they continue with the plan to go from ten to eight regional Brigades then it is a lottery. My money is on a merger between Highland and Lowland and then one of those tiny and poorly manned southern Brigades. Since 15 Bde provides 20% and 2 Div 50% of Reguar Army recruiting, I'd say that collectively 15 Bde is already doing some things right (assuming local TA recruitment matches that of the regs).
  3. "Districts" as opposed to regional Bdes may be the word.
  4. Districts, hmmm. Didn't we get rid of all of those some 20-30 years ago in another cost cutting, sorry defence review? Surely some mistake.
