Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Anyone point me towards a decent book covering the events around the advance on the Rhine in Feb/March 1945? My Grandfather was KIA while serving with 4 KOSB at the Wesel pocket and I recently visited his grave in the Reichswald war cemetery. I've read 'With the Jocks' which was written by his CO and actually covers the attack on a farmhouse that he and 37 others were killed (apparently the tank support didn't show up) but I'm on the lookout for other texts. Any advice gratefully received.
  2. Google 'Patric Delaforce', has written some of the best on this subject.
