Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. It dont look good for the boys who work on Airbus wings in Filton. This sale will shift production to cheaper labour European countries
  2. I doubt it very much. The sheer cost of building modern airframe manufacturing facilites is prohibative, and getting the skills required by the workforce would take years of training and would delay Airbus production. It would be far cheaper for whoever wins the bidding war to take over the existing facilities. Airbus is a massive success and has order streching many years into the future. They cannot afford to have any interruptions in production now.
  3. BAE are trying to purchased a large defence contractor in the US and they need the money for this deal
