Does that mean the rather inbred islanders will have some new genetic material added to their genepool?

IIRC, the last time that happened was 1892 when two shipwrecked Italians washed up.

Right got it at last, Nightingale Is some way from Tristan about 20 ks and Edinburgh is on the other side of the Island, We used to go past it on the way to East Cove FI from Capetown

Not quit true some of the LMA men managed to get ashore in 1984 from the MV England, while delivering stores from South Africa on their way to the FI
