Back pain while tabbing

Infantry? Silly bugger...

Serious hat:-

Carrying the weight too high and the load is on your neck and shoulders.

Don't you chaps down there in the dark continent have bearers for that sort of thing?

I still feel guilty as hell for dropping out of a CFT in the middle of a German summer.
Apparently, I went a bit 'funny', and was sent to the jack wagon.
I remember none of it, but 20 odd years later, it still bothers me.
Classic fainting that!
Shornecliffe and we were getting jabs between breakfast and morning drill!
Warned off to eat a good breakfast so I had everything I could!
I spewed all over the RSM and wobbled away to the drill shed where a nice Sgt looked after me, apparently you go into a mild shock after fainting!
I wasn’t charged as the RSM’s kit was my evidence and I was a hero for the day for ruining the RSM’s day!

We used to but apparently it's now seen as a Bad Thing. It's not been the same since Colonel Featherstonehaugh-Smythe was served as the hors d' oevre at a ZANU-PF rally.

Similar to 2RRF in Celle where loads jacked on a hot day, only to be paraded and humiliated by their RSM on the parade square.
