Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. The Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC)
    Warrant Officer Rupert Banfield
    Captain Richard Timothy CUTHILL
    Staff Sergeant Andrew Edward FARMER
    Captain Neil James PASSMORE
The Queen's Commendation for Valuable Service (QCVS)
Warrant Officer Class 2 Michael William BATES

    Yeap, well done !
  2. Good show gents!
  3. ............and last Sunday off for all the bowser mongs and MT/Sigs boys !!!!!!
  4. You know better than to ask questions like that!!!!!

You only get medals for making fantastic speeches or operating the war from a nice warm office somewhere well behind freindly lines

Remember simply doing your job well isn't enough to get a good confidential! Unless your high enough up the food chain that is :p Then all you have to do is turn up for work in what ever dress suites you and ensure you get at least 2 rounds of golf in by 1700. Ho Raaaah, back in time for tea and medals. That Trooper lad must have been a mistake. He actually did something that deserved a medal. :!:
  5. They didn't even give Simon Cockton a medal after the Falklands !
  6. Monkeyboy,

If you read the attached link on the original post, I think you'll find BB was pretty much as close to the frontline as you can get!!
  7. Not as close as the guys dodging bullets!!

    I rest my case.

  8. Monkeyboy, what are you on about, how close do you have to get.

Intentionally or not you are sounding a bit of a plonker with your posts.
  9. I tend to concur, Onya.

Salt and vinegar with that monkey?
  10. I apologise guys. Have just read it he's a hero... Statement withdrawn!!Marching myself for therapy as we speak
