Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Aussie PM John Howard has announced that Australia is to deploy a further 450 troops to Iraq. These will deploy to Al Muthanna Province in MND(SE) - the British-commanded Division. They will back fill for the the Dutch, who are leaving theatre in March. Currently the QDG are taking over the area and the Aussies will replace them.

It is believed the the 2nd Cavalry Regiment is the unit in question. It is equipped with the ASLAV armoured vehicle. This doubles the number of aussies in Iraq.
  2. Can always depend on the Aussies. Great allies through thick and thin.
