I've been sent this message, and personally I think its a load of crap. Even if it did work the Police would take 72 hours to respond...

If you should ever be forced by a robber to withdraw money from an ATM
machine, you can notify the police by entering your PIN # in reverse.
For example, if your pin number is 1234, then you would put in 4321. The ATM system
recognizes that your PIN number is backwards from the ATM card you placed in the

Ive heard of this, but cant think of where, IIRC it was put forward in the US as a genuine system, and may have been taken on in some (very, very, few) places in the US, but was never widely adopted, i think due to the costs.
Have a look on snopes, they should know.
