Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. From the BBC:

    Asbo adviser mocks drink campaign

she said some ministers might perform better if they "turn up in the morning pissed".

"Doing things sober is no way to get things done," she added.

Surely this worked for some elements of the Army for years in BAOR?

    Sound sentiments expressed for once:

"Doing things sober is no way to get things done."

Churchill was hardly ever sober. Most Victorian politicians could drink like fish.

I for one thoroughly agree, and think that if we were run by a government of pissartists, as was the norm until a few years ago, we'd hardly be worse off than with this bunch of sanctimonious, do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do prigs.
  3. Just heard some of the 'tape' on Radio 4.

She comes over as a bit of a prat. Talking to an audience of senior people in the various Law agencies and saying that she was going to deck the minister if he spouted forth one more time suggests to me that she is either unsuitale for the job, or she was under the influence.
