Just been through the last of today's pics:

The Devil's Pulpit; it overlooks Tintern Abbey, but it's foggy down there.

When the fog cleared a bit; Tintern abbey...

A drone would be sooo good for those shots, you could hover through the mist and get the light
about time you purchased one methinks

I bet it would, and I was tempted a while back, but I think too much gear isn't good. I reckon 'creative limitations' force you to focus on and get better with the gear you've got and that's the way to improve.

Polish the gems you've got 'n' all that.

Add a drone to the mix and my little Geordie brain will explode.

If you have kids, get them involved, a mate of mine bought one, neither of us old pillocks could even work out how to make it light up
took his normally bored son along 14 year old, little sod had it up and running and taking pics for us
even some of the cheapo ones give a good image, a chap I know who takes pictures of properties for sale, uses one to find the best loction to photograph from, so missing out Nuclear power stations, pikey camps, and dodgy housing estates
I think his was under a grand new, but you can get them secondhand
we used his one to locate some stolen property in a wooded area, its surprising what stands out from 150 feet

The fun police don't want that happening.
Cadw (the Welsh Government's historic environment service) do not allow drone flying from or over its guardianship sites, except by contractors commissioned for a specific purpose, who satisfy stringent CAA criteria, have the correct insurances and are operating under controlled conditions.

Sadly not self-taken, last time I was back in Australia GD #1 wasn't even walking.
