Arrsers self taken photo collection.

I went on a school trip to Guernsey when i was about Ten.
Had a wonderful time climbing in and out of the old German fortifications'
I just wish i had, and, new how to use a camera at that age.
One memory that sticks in my mind was an old alarm button stuck to the wall with an old painted red wartime electric bell with ALARM "AChtung Alarm" written next to it.

On the verandah this morning, about 0800, absorbing the sunrise warmth, this bloke: a “Masked Devil”, scientifically titled “Cyclochila australasie”; he took a bit longer than usual to get started, due no doubt to his geriatric stage, and no sooner had he righted himself and crawled onto my outstretched hand, off he fecked towards the neighbours trees, hopeful, I suppose of a last fling prior to carking. Love this rural lifestyle, to be sure! (Pics captured in haste on iPad Pro 9.7”)

FMOB, You mean to say there's actually something that doesn't bite, sting or kick you,

The 5-year old SWMBO-mini has a great time collecting their “shells” as pets, to the delight of SWMBO-Minor, who finds them throughout the house; SWMBO-Major’n I are happy to be the grandparental fonts of knowledge, so I was a bit disappointed when that one this morning decamped before I could stick it in a shoebox the give to SWMBO-mini. And the vibrating/noise is quite enervating, but Yep, they don’t really have any anti-social tendencies like the rest of our fauna.

Still in Lockdown …. looking through some old photographs and came across this which is the old Refuge Hut near The Hen Hole on the Pennine Way … not self taken but I am out on the flank … in those days I believe it was also known as “ The Black Watch Refuge Hut “ … the “ Hut “ in fact was a Railway Container with sliding doors much in use by British Rail at the time ~ 35 years ago . Those who have walked the PW may find it of interest ...

2018 BW Ref Hut WL.jpg

The main walk was a short December / Christmas circular from Cocklawfoot to Hexpethgate to the Refuge Hut … where the Queen was toasted and then back to Cocklawfoot . Later after changing to Kirk Yetholm and the Border Hotel for a meal and “ a bit of do “ … the Club I was in had several accomplished Northumbrian Pipe and Fiddle players … happy days .
