A Grey Day in Northumberland …. Went for a coastal stroll with Number 1 Son from Druridge to and around Ladyburn Lake on tracks and came back on the beach . Druridge Bay Beach , ~ 7 Miles long and sand , is typical of the magnificent beaches in Northumberland . There were signs in the Druridge Bay Country Park Visitor Centre advising visitors to maintain spacing … but none on the beach … totally unnecessary …

…. when we looked North and then South we could see in total less than 10 people …. long may it remain so unpopular ;) .

As I have posted before " Nature will win " ... more WW2 Anti Tank obstacles slowly disappearing .

ETA ... Photograph taken by Number One Son ... so may just qualify ... captured the mood at Ladyburn Lake ... there was a small buoy in the middle distance with an even smaller bird perched on it ...

Nay .... Nay ... and thrice Nay ... Northumberland is a dreadful place ... outside " Netties " ... appalling weather ... still with only 405 Line TV Channels and locals who think the Internet is something to improve fishing .... seriously ... for those who have not been the beaches are pristine with fine soft sand and even in the height of Summer are so vast they still seem virtually empty of visitors .

Whenever I take Mrs b (a Surrey girl) up there for a holiday, I ask her how many people she thinks will be on the beach - be it at Amble, Alnmouth, Beadnell, Bamburgh, etc - before we get there. She always quotes a double-figure number and always gets it wrong. You would have thought that after 40 years she would know better.
