Arrse without Labour

In 48 hours or so there will be regime change in the UK (or so I dearly hope).

Arrse has never operated under anything other than a Labour government, except in Scotland where of course SNP rule the roost but only in a devloved way.

So, what will the changes mean to Arrse? Does it mean that there will be a clean sweep of Moderators and new ones appointed who are not tainted by the previous establishment? Will they be like sivel sourpants who remain in place on change of ruling party but the senior ones quietly retired to allow new placemen to be brought in?

Will the views of Arrsers suddenly change and the government become the best thing since sliced bread? Will the world as we know it suddenly come to a crashing end?

The next 48-72 hours could be the most momentous in Arrse since the foundation, are you prepared for the change?

Nah, its gonna be more of the same.. change of government will not mean change of the political class will it? Will still be the same cartel running the country, just a different brand name.

Although I am more generally sympathetic to the Tories than I am to the socialist vermin I will continue to be a critic the Government when it (I think) is wrong just as I supported the outgoing shower when I thought they were right.

It is one of the reasons I could never go into politics - I could never agree to my party right or wrong.

There is going to be pain in the months and years to come. The incoming Government is going to have to implement some very unpopular policies to repair the damage done by Brown and his cronies.

There will be the usual nay-sayers, but the majority will get behind the new junta, with high hopes and expectations, somewhat tempered by the catastrophic legacy left behind after 13 years of myopism.

Within a few short months, the cracks will begin to show, and the lefties at the ARRSE table will become ever more vocal and strident.

Before the end of the first terms, every one of us will be comparing Dave unkindly to Blair, as we settle ourselves into the next patriotic war, from which every vote can be counted.

If all goes well, and we win said war, there'll be a second term, and you never know, things might actually start getting better.

As for ARRSE, it will ever be that precision tooled weather vane that accurately reflects the mood of the nation, whilst shrugging off assaults and attacks upon its anus from without, or from heaven.

Maybe there'll lots of threads like 'Things are fine', 'All is well' and 'What'll us obsessive freaks whose posts consist of nothing but Cyclops, Broon,Bliar, Labour scum etc write about now?'

I'll bet a fiver on tax rises and public spending cuts (defence review inbound) regardless who gets in. That'll give us something to moan about!
