ARRSE Flutters

I do a line on the national lottery on a Saturday.
That's it. No other gambling on football, Nags or dogs.
It's a mugs game.
With lottery odds of over 14 million/1, my money's on the nags!

OK, now I get it. Arrse Flutters. Of course.

All this time I thought this was about Arrse Fluffers and a certain VHS tape I still have on that vital aspect of an actors 'preparation' for a scene.

Apologies, must stop speed reading.

Well, there are a few reasons; both act on soft/heavy, and both have placed at this distance or further. Also Getaway Jewel is top of the speed list by a considerable margin.
Velasco is still improving and I like the green and white jersey.

4 places/ 5/1 favourite/ soft ground

A wide open race for e/w punters I reckon.

Still not sure whether ap or sp for these bets.

The preference was in general rather than these two runners, but was ambiguous.

Meanwhile "...the tension mounts, as indeed does Derek ... ", Peter Cook, world coughing championships

The race is at 12:45.
Ergo, the prices are not starting prices.
And betting preferences are general, otherwise everyone would win all the time.
What’s your point?

I’ve been studying the form intensely for the last 7 or 8 minutes, and the 12:45 at Catterick has a favourite currently trading at 5/1, and most bookies are paying 4 places.
This indicates rich pickings on the each way market: small stakes, big return.
My selections are:

Getaway Jewel (10/1)

Velasco (12/1)

I’ve gone in BIG, with a princely £1.25 e/w on both.

Good luck if you follow
So if you were on at SP you got a 14/1 place and a loser. Just about broke even then. If you took 10/1 you lost money.

Who doesn't stick £5 on the grand national?
Me.

Never been in a betting shop. Never placed a bet online.

Never done anything more than enter the works pick the horse out of a hat.

Never bought a scratch card.

Did the national lottery for a bit, then I calculated the odds, then I realised that half of the good causes were a bunch of things I didn't want to give money to. Haven't done it since 1995.

This is where your mugs money goes:

The last time my first choice fell at the first fence and they shot the second. If I bet again the RSPCA will be on to me...

The original post was intended as a bit of fun for those who DO enjoy a wager.

And the chances are, with a forum membership of many thousands, that I'm not the only one who plays the geegees occasionally.

The moral high ground seems to be awfully crowded at the moment, however.

What was the result of your tips then and how much did you win?

My Mrs and I save all our shrapnel {loose change} in a jar, about every 6 months,
we nip down to Looe and blow all the 2p coins in the arcade, just the 2p mind,
we wouldn't want to overspend that would never do.
If gamblers made money there would be any betting shops

I enjoy a flutter from time to time; horses, roulette etc. I usually come out ahead - hey, they don't call me Lucky Bob for nothing.

However, recently I've founded a syndicate that can double your money guaranteed. Whatever your initial investment (£5 or £5million, no limits) I can double it. All you have to do is introduce three other investors who'll match your stake - job's a good 'un, instant payout.
