Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

The book review section of Arrse has now been running for a month and there has been a lot of interest with over 1000 hits on the Reviews. There have been very few comments left after the reviews so you may not realise that you can leave a comment and score the book, especially if you have read it. If the review encourages you to buy it mention this on the site. If you buy from a site that asks where you heard about the book/author please mention ARRSE. All publicity welcomed. To find the review section, go to ‘More Arrse’ on the toolbar and Arrse Book Club Reviews is listed 4 down.

To date we have published 6 reviews:
Democrats to Kings by Dr M Scott Reviewed by Sixty
Ricky Series Books 1 & 2 by M Ruston reviewed by AlienFTM
    Pull Up A Sandbag by J Smiles reviewed by engr172 & X-Inf
How2Become (Army) by R McMunn reviewed by udipur

There are 4 which will be published in the next day or so:
Ricky – Book 3 in the series by M Rushton reviewed by AlienFTM
How2Become RN and RAF (separate reviews) by R McMunn reviewed by udipur
Task Force Black by M Urban reviewed by Fang Farrier

There are a further 7 books being reviewed just now and these will be published as soon as they arrive and hopefully within the next month. Interestingly, one (non-military) author has asked us to check out a manuscript for authenticity, i.e. if the military character is plausible. If authors think ARRSE is the place to come for this then we may see a raise in literary standards where the army is concerned. Maybe TV directors may start to think the same way – chance would be a fine thing.

So there is plenty for you to look at and hopefully this will help you in your choice of reading material. If you have read one of the books, please leave a review or comment with your score which will show up as Mr Mushroomheads. A description of the catergorisation will appear as a Sticky in the Book Club Forum once GCO has the time to put up, but basically 5 is the bees knees and 1 should be a present for your mother in law.
