This is the problem with DMS nursing...due to very poor promotion chances in real terms beyond Sergeant (RAF specifically), career-long pay progression is non-existent. A SNCO who qualified 6 yrs ago, specialised in one of the 'critical requirements' (A&E, ITU, O/Th) some time back is essentially a 'D/E' grade in relative terms, as far as the Tri-Service or the NHS are concerned.
Bollox
Goose,
I'll get you a fence, it's optional if you use it we dont want any splinters do we?

Talking to the amy nea, there is currently a shortage of 'appropriate' candidates for promotion to seargant. on questioning those set above me the un official view is that a depressingly large number of people still seem to be signing off in the last year of their pay back. Or is this just another case of me being lied to again by the powers that be. damn they had me again, but if accurate the army promotion stakes are not that bad

Back to the original question, why dont you ring QA recruiting, I am sure that the fantastic staff who work there will be able to give you answers to your questions that arent based on rumour or personal opinions.

To anything in particular are you referring, or are you just mentioning the parts of male anatomy which please you most? Please digress.

i can only speak from the experience of my mdhu but it certainly seems that way, and those that arent in their last year of the time bar are either waiting for it or actively seeking other ways to get out.

granted that promotion chances are a bit grim for crab air, dead man's shoes and all that, but for the army promotion is on merit and recommendation. wrt pay progression, you get more pay with promotion as well as 2 pay rises pe year - one yearly rise in april and one incremental rise due to seniority in that rank, and i qualified 9 yrs ago and specialised in trauma orthopaedics - i don't se myself as a d/e grade nor do the colleagues that i work with.

ps, i'm a bloke so bollox do not please me unless they are top bollox then thats a different story!!

You must be in a privalidged place then.

My last MDHU I really was a D grade - and treated like shit. At least I now have some support in my current place. Will have to do another MDHU but dont want to after my last experiance.

Your experiences are totally dependent on the MDHU, one is totally crap (Frimley) and nursing staff are treated worse than slaves. Others I have heard better reports about!

Didn't like frimley myself. The QA isnt bad, well there must be worse places right?...somebody......anybody. Enjoyed my MDHU nursey time. Just getting ready to hand up my registration for three years while I do some green time, joy. You gotta love this job to do it, money on the outside may be better, but the prospects for training arent bad on the inside, both gash study days and the longer more meaningful courses.

I like the majority of QAs, particularly those who served between 1986 and 2001, they provided me with an immense amount of entertainment throughout the world.
I appaude you all and give my heart felt thanks, even to the occassional munter that wandered into my line of fire.

I love going on exercise with QAs, no matter how bad I feel, I take one look at them and how miserable they are and it brightens my day!!

Oh and QAs are better than masterbation............just......... :meditate:
