Am I missing something? He puts down a decent deposit with the cash that he has been saving for the last 12 years and gets a mortgage - same as other people. Unless, of course, he has drunk and smoked all that away and wants a handout.

Didn't someone say on here very recently that their other half worked for a housing association which specialised in housing ex servicemen - a housing association that had many empty properties.

They posted it on one of the 'the ex-serviceman in a tent thread'.
