Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Currently appyling to serve and was just wondering, does the army have flying clubs? i.e. civilian flying, PPL etc. Sorry if this answered elsewhere did do a search. maybe i didnt type the right things. Im currently doing my PPL part time when not at work and would like to continue the hobby if i make it in. Have heard they exist, is there regiments, corps, where I would be better situated to persue this over others? Thinking of AAC for my interest in all things aviation, but am just as tempted with cav and inf.

    Thanks in advance
  2. Army Flying Association is based at Middle Wallop. They have a pair of hearing-aid beige Cessnas.
  3. Just googled it. Looks good. Not been in a C172 before currently on the 152. Thanks.
  4. Unsure if the Eagles are still in use. Failing that try the Red Arrows.
  5. Army Gliding Association

The AGA have Motor Gliders - Get your NPPL on those and then use the hours to get your PPL?
