A2020 Refine seems to have been published, with a statement from Fallon here:

Strategic Defence and Security Review - Army:Written statement - HCWS367

Hard to interpret some of the detail, but it seems as though KRH are changing role and will form part of the first strike brigade. It's not clear if the HCR will need to change role to form the Lt Cav element of that brigade as well.

HQ 102 Log Bde, 32 Reg RA, 35 Eng Regt, Headquarters 64 Works Gp RE, 2 Med Reg, Headquarters 4 Regt RMP, 33 Field Hospital and 104,105 and 106 Bn REME are all being removed from the orbat.

Two additional reserve battalions and two infantry battalions becoming specialist. In both cases one of them is RIFLES, because this is a Carter plan and he's as tribal as they come.

In the case of the 'removals' is this to make units = manpower, or something else?

Are the "specialist" Inf Bn actually being created because of the shortage of Inf soldiers, in a cap-badge preservation process? I thought the RIFLES were overborne?

I'd say it's moving the presents around under the tree to make it look fuller, adjusting units/roles to fit incoming equipment and Carter blowing smoke up his own capbadge.

Fallon rather fancies the RNs new BFO carrier and the political clout it brings, he's also aware the RN needs an uplift of £1 Billion to funds its day to day operational costs.
Future Reserves Plan = less money for the Army.

Will be interesting to see what happens when he's out the door and the rifles no longer have the umbrella.
Indeed it will. In fairness, the last round of cuts under A2020 justifiably protected the RIFLES because they performed against certain standards, unlike the battalions that got cut. Turning them into a specialist battalion and adding a reserve unit is just naked tribalism though.

I don't think this plan makes any difference to funding. I think it's just moving the chairs around the table.

This plan requires a fair amount of expenditure on new equipment.

Maybe I'm being picky but I find it interesting he refers to the AJAX as a medium tank. Is this just an oversight on his part or are they trying to 'rebrand' AJAX as a tank to stem the criticism over Challenger cuts?

'40mm CTA can defeat previous generation MBTs'

All hail the AJAX medium tank.

What's with disbanding 4 Regt RMP HQ? The property dividend? Or deleting a 'Brigade' infrastructure and attendant officer ranks?

It's pleasant to watch really, you only have to have been in the Army for about 5mins to guess what will probably happen.
Next CGS or the one after will put his own spin on things when current plan amounts to nothing and the biggest, most obvious target to slice will be the rifles.

Really?

Maybe all the other infantry units will become de-facto Rifles
I frigate class
I destroyer class

OK, F35 and Typhoon, make that two types of infantry - PARA and Rifles.

Hopefully we'll get another Rfn in there to reduce that risk, and continue to rebalance things at the top end which has been much too dominated by paras and woodentops in recent years :)
