I'm starting to think that whenever a thread looks 'political' and begins to delve into the activities of those is power, it seems to get hijacked by a small number of regular posters who very quickly fill up the thread with incredibly tedious back-and-forth posts that soon put others off posting.

The to-ing and fro-ing is most often done by die-hard left hookers (we know who they are).

I think these guys are in the employ of the Labliar Party and earn their money by stodging up and bogging down potentially explosive threads.

Edited for spelling.

Fine line between going against the accepted norm - which should be occasionally admired that someone is willing to take incoming for not towing the arrse line - and being a svencnut and just blurbing sh*te on the forums constantly asking for links etc.

Believe it or not lefties have a part to play in today's society, to moderate extreme right-wing views that saw such ideas as 3 million unemployed, poll tax, de-regulation of the bus services and privatisation of the railways.

*occasionally* I'll stand for the left/liberal cause, but definitely less so than before as I have lost every scrap of faith I ever had in the current government - and unfortunately there was I time when I thought Labour might be a force for good in this country. I was young and naive...

Thank f*** for the left wingers. Otherwise the floating voters would agree with all that tosh about Thatcher being like f***ing Gandhi! "No, she never raped the working classes, she saved them from themselves, jobs were a waste of time" etc etc. Who cut the armed forces by a third during Options For Change? The tory government. Cnuts. Blair is a tory anyway. He's a mincing, public school educated lawyer for f***'s sake. Hardly a socialist by any stretch of the imagination.

Accepting that there is a range of opinions is one thing, so long as everyone is free to differ within the bounds of good taste and the site rules. Arrse is, after all, a broad church.

But there are a few posters on here (a very few) who sieze on any topic and manage to manipulate it around to a discussion on their home turf.

Often they do that by posting a contentious (but irrelevant to the original topic) remark that has a link to his/her favourite hobby horse. It inevitably attracts replies, so drawing attention away from the original posting and then bingo!

The fixated poster responds, more outraged replies come in, and before you know it the topic has changed.

Now, what do you think about the Twin towers event? <cough!>

You're only pissed off with Maggie 'cause she rebucked your advances. Get over it she loves Dennis.

It was shocking I grant you. We had just won a fifty year war against the world's largest country and those daft Tories decided we could cut back our forces a little.

It was crazy, just plain crazy.

Not only the Lefties, though. The carpet-chewing Europe-haters amongst our Rightist friends do it, too.

In the case of ARRSE vs. Hereward 2007,

Not Labour, granted, but uses the same tactics.

I don't know. You need people like this if for no other reason, a bit of entertainment.

Saying that, are individuals like these not entitled to a "special needs" status amongst us? I just think that the eventual O2 badge feels a little cruel.

MODS - Could we not have a medal ribbon with

"MONG - be kind"

on it for the poor souls like Hereward? Hopefully, it would made them feel "special " too

And please tell me why the 90's were ok?

As I have said before it takes time for policies etc. to work......

At least arrse is democratic allow anyone with a view to have a say, unlike our MP’s of all parties who seem to have forgotten this bit, in their manifestoes?

You see? YOU SEE? Leveller's just got on his own hobbyhorse and is attempting to hijack the thread and turn it into a rant about politicos instead of stupid cnuts onthe tinternet who hate Maggie. But I won't let him... so in answer to the original question: Nah, they're just cnuts who want to ride their hobbyhorses whilst fisting themselves and pleasuring haddock.

Of course, I could just be a NeuArbeit stooge blowing smoke...
