App Spec Cse Extra Pay ????

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Is it true that Signallers who complete the Bowman App Spec cse are being paid an extra £1 - £1.50 a day as trade pay ?

Just a rumour i heard but if anyone knows better please let me know - just a professional interst point of view
  2. Sounds like utter bo11ocks. There's no such thing as trade pay.
  3. I'm an IS engr, App Spec and I'm not getting any extra sponds, It's a dull job but some one has got do it. It's comes with great postings like Bulford, Tidworth, Sennelager or Osnabruck. It has more rumours attached to it, Lord Lucan is running us in Glasgow, he might be coming down to Bulford on Shergar to let us know what's happening to IS stream army wide.
  4. If there is no "trade pay" how come people over the years have had it removed? Say, when they have lost their driving licences and therefore do not fulfill the trade requirment? I know many who have had this happen to them. Either that or they gladly signed up for deductions back to the beloved Corps.
  5. Rumour quashed.

  6. Very simple. We used to have about 3 or 4 pay bands per rank, however we now have high and low pay bands. Happy so far?

If you're for example a Spec Op Lance-jack then you get paid at the high pay band, as you're fulfilling your CEQ. If, however, you lose your driving licence then you're no longer qualified, so you move from being paid as a Spec Op Lancejack to being paid in the CEQ of 'Soldier' (which is on low pay band). I saw it happen to a Tech Sgt at 14 Sigs - he went from being a Band 5 (or 6) Sgt to a Band 4, for the duration of the ban (12 months). All Siggies, for example, are on lower pay band already, so they wouldn't lose anything at all.

So there's no such thing as 'trade pay' per se. machiavelli, you're right - rumour indeed quashed.

  10. PD - If that is the case then surely they cannot withhold Pay anymore (Post Pay 2000)? Don't know so genuinly interested.. Anybody any Idea??

  11. Whats an "App Spec" ?
  12. Not sure if this is a wah or not, but for those out there that don't know.

App Spec is an Application Specialist. Its a Bowman Course which people complete which adds a secondary trade on top of their main one.

Main use is for when using Combat software on Bowman UDT's.
