Anyone replaced a LR Freelander clutch lately?

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I managed to burn out the clutch on my '03 Landrover Freelander TD4 and was wondering if any of the engine gurus on arrse know roughly how much it would cost to get it fixed? Bare in mind that I'm a cav officer and thus have absolutely no knowledge of the black magic that goes on under the bonnet (or the back decks of a tank for that matter).

Would my LAD be able to fix it if I chucked them a substantial amount of booze and cash?
  2. Dear God! I hope I don't need one of those flywheel thingys. Do you have to replace them as well?! I burnt out the clutch trying to get the car out of a snow filled dip I got stuck in. Is there any way of telling if I knackered the flywheel too?
  3. no, not till its in bits . If its one of the silly dual mass flywheels then its probably yes !
  4. It is dual mass.
They are generally knackered so many LR specialists quote for routinely replacing it with the clutch.
