Anyone remember this old chocolate bar?

In Germany you can buy it in every Supermarket, red or blue tin meaning plain or milk chocolate. I quite like it but it's expensive. A little tin costs around 1,70 euros.
These days the tin is certainly less Germanic.View attachment 476797
It's OK in the winter but you can't bring your boots to a shine in the summer.

Was there ever a definitive answer on the manufacturer of screech, and whether it's still available in more or less its original form?

Er... asking for a friend.
Porton Down still have the recipe and produce small test batches every year for research purposes.

after the the iraq war 1991 they put a ban on further production and we went to the german fertig stuff.

I have a version of the recipe. You will need:

500g Artificial citrus flavouring

500g Tartrazine (E102) synthetic food colouring

2kg Refined sugar

5 litres Battery acid

1 Small pinch of radium (This can be omitted if, for tactical reasons, you don't wish the screech to glow in the dark)
