Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. As above. Anyone else planning on being there? Anyone else a fat old ****** that wants to play Sigs?

Could do with some moral support as i am A. old B. fat and expecting to be surrounded by racing snakes and fat birds.

Still at least i can identify a pint of best bitter and know my chorlton and the wheelies from my dangermouse.

  2. Wont be there but when I was at Pirbright last month it was mainly tabbing.
Max 4 miles tab and a squad 5 mile run(was cut short)
never did the mile and half. first week was PT and first exercise, second week was mainly tests and drill.

Accom is good, food is good

  3. Sounds fun i can tab all day and a 5 mile run spread over a week is more than reasonable. Does anyone know if i can take my pipe and slippers?

  4. you'll be fine .. its spread over the 2 weeks ;) .. seriously though look out for Sid(PTI) he is a beast ... but fair if you work your ok if you dont it gets painful ...

Can you take ya pipe and slippers .. depends on your DS if you get to use them .. the ones we had we're pretty decent only thing they asked was 100% effort and the block was kept clean .. the squad before had locker inspections ..

  5. You will be fine just as long as you do what you are told and try your best.
The instructors are demi gods of knowledge.

I was on the course earlier this year and loved it!

The accommodation is great, the food is fantastic. I ate like a horse and lost over half a stone in two weeks.

    Tips
    - take radio
    - porn
    - a stack of really sick jokes.

Don't worry about being in with reg recruits - the TA are a bit of a mystery to them and if they give you stick just remind them that you will be home in two weeks balls deep in your wife/girlfriend/Spot the dog while they are tabbing far and wide. :D

  6. I asked to be put on 14th Nov CMSR but was told by my unit that the course has been cancelled. Now booked for 28th November.

What he said. Genuinely two of the best weeks of my life; loved virtually every minute of it. And I too am also too old and large to keep up with the youngsters - just give it your all and this will be recognised even if you're not first on the runs.
