Any laptop manufacturers still selling XP?

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I need to buy a new (basic) laptop for the old man.

I don't want to lumber him with conversion to Vista, but would rather find a new laptop with XP SP3. I want it as an OEM install because he can just about cope with sorting problems out using restore OEM disks - he lives down in Spain, and i can't be around to provide IT support.

Anyone know if any of the major players are still offering XP? It is available in many of the new midget laptops (I have an Eee 901), but these are too small for oldie eyes...

    YesItsMe LE Good Egg (charities)

amazon still does - and dell as well afaik
  3. I think you can specify that you want XP instaed of Vista on most.
  4. Dell will install XP Professional as a preference and they are doing some pretty good deals at the moment.
  5. Bump

Looks like it'll still be around for a bit longer!

Is anyone going to bother with Vista now, with Windows 7 on the way?
