Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Reports: Protesters Try To Storm UK Embassy

Protesters are trying to storm the British and German embassies in the Sudanese capital Khartoum, say reports.

Reuters news service quoted witnesses as saying demonstrators had managed to get inside the German compound.

They smashed windows and started a fire in front of the main gate.

The violence came as anger against an anti-Muslim film spread across the Middle East.

The unrest has been sparked by a US-made video depicting the Prophet Mohammed having sex, calling for massacres, and as a homosexual.

In Lebanon, hundreds of protesters have set fire to a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant in the northern city of Tripoli, chanting anti-American slogans.

Locals watching the attack said people were shouting: "We don't want the Pope" and "No more insults (to Islam)".

It came as Pope Benedict began a three-day visit to Lebanon.

  2. You can't blame the Sudenese for storming the British Embassy instead of the US one as we white people all look the same.

  3. Fair play to them, when they do outrage they pull out all the stops.

  4. Nonsense. That's the Lebanese UDA trying to piss off the Pope.

  5. Given the proportion of Sudanese immigrants in certain parts of the EU, are the reporters sure this is in fact, a storming of the embassies as opposed to a mass application for political asylum?
