If you're doing well at something your view of the boss may differ from that of the person being pushed to do better. His toxic leader may be the other man's else's role model. Depends on many factors.

The army has plenty of bullies, still. I've seen and dealt with my share of them at all ranks. Unfortunately not everyone has the ability to tackle a toxic Tom in their platoon never mind the toxic, Segreant, SSM etc.
Anything that helps people speak out is a good thing.
