Another US mass shooting - Texas Baptist - at least 27 dead

Multiple deaths in shooting at Baptist church in south Texas

A Baptist church in Sutherland Springs, Texas was the scene of a major mass shooting on Sunday morning after a man walked into the church and opened fire, leaving multiple worshippers dead and many more injured.

It was not immediately known how many people were killed and wounded at First Baptist church in the small town 30 miles south-east of San Antonio, or who carried out the attack. The Wilson County News reported that Wilson County’s sheriff, Joe Tackitt, said the shooter had been taken down.

The sheriff of neighbouring Guadalupe County, Arnold Zwicke, told CNN there was a single suspect who was killed after a brief pursuit as he tried to flee. It was not clear if the suspect took his own life or was brought down by law enforcers.

So El Presidente delivers his thoughts...........

Tokyo (CNN)President Donald Trump said Monday that he believes the Texas church shooting was caused by a "mental health problem," not an issue with gun laws in the United States.

"Mental health is your problem here," Trump said, noting that "based on preliminary reports" the shooter was "a very deranged individual."
"This isn't a guns situation," Trump said. "This is a mental health problem at the highest level. It's a very, very sad event."

So, the individual who shot up and killed a load was a nutter. I thought the standing gun legislation was supposed to prevent that..........or, would that make it an issue with gun laws?

It ask's: f. Have you ever been adjudicated as a mental defective OR have you ever been committed to a mental institution? (See Instructions for Question 11.f.)

Is it possible for someone with a mental condition to be unaware that they have a mental condition?

He was also had an other than honorable discharge, a domestic violence conviction. What’s the point in back ground checks when no one actually checks or inputs the conviction into the right database.

The USAF are half admitting they did not inform outside the military of his internal convictions and discharge status.

Some heads should roll.

From Fox this morning:

Apparently the USAF should have informed the FBI that he was dishonourably discharged under a cloud. That in itself meant he was legally not allowed to buy firearms. Congress are now giving the USAF a hard time over the matter and want answers.

The FBI is complaining about encryption on new tech because they cannot get into his phone to read threatening text messages he was sending to his mother in law.

On the mother in law thing. Apparently they had a domestic and he went to the church as it is the church she attends.
