The troop was serving with 2nd Battalion The Lancashire Regiment, operating with the Light Dragoons Battlegroup. He died after being being shot while on foot patrol in the Babaji district, central Helmand province, on Sunday. The Ministry of Defence said the soldier's family have been informed.
