Another car insurance question

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Back in October I managed to write my car off - and nearly myself as well. The insurance company offered to keep the insurance policy open whilst I looked for a replacement - however, this took a while whilst I dealt with other things, and the policy was cancelled. Subsequently when I got a replacement car I did a comparison of prices and ended up with a policy from the same company.

    However, I am still paying the payments for the original policy. Is this legal/normal?

    Your payments for the original are the annual premium spread over x amount of months. Most policies deem the premium earnt in full if you make a claim so all you are doing is paying what you owe.
