  1. Morning all I need a decent word program as I only had Office on a free trial long expired and am too cheap to buy an activation code (office 2007). So can anyone recommend a decent free alternative I can use mainly for word processing CV etc.

  2. I'll second that. I've been using Open Office for nearly 2 years and it does everything that Microsoft Office does. It reads Microsoft Office docs and can save in Microsoft Office formats (and many others). No incompatibility issues that I've found.

  3. i use OpenOffice for my electrical certs, no problems thus far.

  4. Get OpenOffice as suggested above. It genuinely does everything MS Office does.

As its free you can try it first. If you don't like it then buy MS Office.

  5. Ok have downloaded Open office many thanks for the prompt advice
