Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Has anbody had any experience of these boots? Are they any good?
  2. Have you been to the shop in Richmond and got fitted?

Not fitted up, just had your feet looked at.
  3. I've got a pair of these, they're like slippers. I would definately recommend them as a summer boot. I've worn them for tabbing and had no dramas at all. Don't know how they would actually fare on the jungle though.
  4. The standard soles are lethal in the jungle - great boots but order with "panama" soles if you are gonna use them in a jungle!
  5. Lethal ? what do they do hide up trees and snipe at you ?

  6. Yeah I should've explained better. The standard tread pattern is not deep enough and in the sole area is actually chamfered. What it means is that when you come downhill in wet mud/clay conditions they have a tendency to slide until you can get your heel down. After using issue junglies it took me a few days to understand why I kept slipping.

They are the best junglies otherwise - great for tabbing and dry out real quick even after river crossings - but buy the panama sole option if you are gonna use them in real tropical areas.

    Hope this helps!
