There’s an interesting back story though. Apparently that was done for a training film resulting from the actual loss of XT269, a Mk2B. Some hapless matelot had brought the aircraft up the lift, moved it into position on the flight deck, and disconnected the tow bar. Did not set the brakes or chock the wheels. A sea swell came up and it just rolled over the side.
I can just imagine the sheer horror of seeing it roll away.
“Right, I’m flying 269 today, where is it?”
“Awfully sorry Sir, it’s about 15 miles astern on the seabed”.
“You’re taking the piss”
”Er, no Sir, I’m not”
