Just been going through the garage and found this in a box.
It is still sealed up in the cellophane wrapper.
As I haven't touched a model kit for 30 old years I think it can wait until I have tried something else first.

I remember being at school 40 plus years ago and somebody bringing in a finished one into the playground. Brave but foolhardy. A landlord at a pub I used to drink in had been a Lancaster pilot during the war. A German friend of mine was visiting the pub with me and mentioned she was from Dresden. He said he knew Dresden well "...but only from the air my dear".

Last night I fished John Nichol’s “Lancaster”.
What a read. Thoroughly recommended on here for the model builders.
Just having your ‘chute hanging up somewhere else in the plane would give me the heebi-jeebies.

If you're determined to build it, e Bay the original, buy the same kit and pocket the change is my advice.

Bit of an odd "anniversary" given that there were no Lancasters in 1940.

The Manchester first flew in April 1940 though so I suppose you could cut two engines off it..
