Air Corps assisting NI Fire Service in tackling Co Armagh forest fire

Two Air Corps helicopters have been dispatched across the border to assist in tackling forest fires on Slieve Gullion in south Armagh.


The helicopters were dispatched following a request from the Northern Ireland Fire Service and approval being granted by a number of Government departments, including Defence and Foreign Affairs.

4th Day of it today in NI, 16th over all this Summer....working hard.

In the last 16 days, the Air Corps has dropped over 620,000 litres of water across 6 counties (including Armagh)

The inlaws have had a hosepipe ban for two weeks now.
For six months of the year Lough Erne is in Fermanagh and for the other six month Fermanaghs in Lough Erne.
