Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. can anyone tell us the upper age limit for the ta. Every ta unit page I look at on the net gives an age limit of 32 years.
The armys main page gives max age of 43???
I have just turned 40 consider myself as quit fit. :?
  2. sounds like a mid-life crisis! Joining the TA at 40!!
  3. Go and knock on the local TA Centre door, and ask. Don't rely on this site for sensible answers.

Go on do it today Good Luck!
  4. You'll have to wait until Saturday, when they're open ;)
  5. Go today, there aren't many units that don't have a PSI on duty. At least there weren't when I was a PSI.
  6. Max age limits for TA currently as follows:

    Soldier 44
    Officer 35

    Regular limits:

    Soldier 33
    Officer 29
    PQO Varies dependant on specialism

Doubtless these will all change by tomorrow but should give an indication of where you stand. There are also all sorts of caveats and loopholes but these should be identified at either the TAC or the Careers Office.
