Hi, everyone.

Just a quick question - is 32 too old to be an effective infantry officer in the Army Reserve?

The official age limit is 49, but some guidance would be appreciated.

My troop leader (light cavalry) is the same age as me - 36 - and he has no problems. It depends what sort of shape you're in. I'm a commissioning course dropout, because of my arguments with the Combat Estimate, but my report describes me as "surprisingly fit for a man his age" and I'm not in the same league as some of my peers.

The only issue with being a late joiner is career progression, but frankly that's limited enough as a reserve officer that you're unlikely to notice.
