    Not a whah.

I end up in discussions about Junior Officers and whilst I can talk about Navy and Marines with confidence never sure about Army.

Now this timeline is only for Warfare Officers, not Logs/Engineering/Aircrew.

    Joins - basic training
First job 2 years with about 2/3 of that at sea.
Second job again 2 years with no time off in between, same time at sea (sea can be week away or 7 month deployment)
5 weeks ashore on Navigators course
2 years again at sea etc etc
Then 8 weeks staff course and then 1 year on PWO course
Then back to sea as a PWO etc etc (Now promoted to Lt Cdr/Maj)

Would this be the average Inf Officer or even other arms????

Help appreciated in my quest to educate my think civi mates. As I said very general, other career paths and such like.

  4. Very unlike this. No Inf officer ever goes to sea.
