Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. The main annual report of the Armed Forces Pay Review Body, dated Feb 2011, has just been released online.

Release of the report usually means that its recommendations have been accepted for implementation from the start of the new financial year. A written ministerial statement was being released in the House of Commons this morning.

  2. Allowances are reduced, pay is frozen and charges increased.

    That's the summary.

  3. ... and same again next year in the 'Future' paragraphs at the end.

And potentially another sunshine tour - Libya!!

Still they were hardly going to be using pay as a retention tool if in the next few weeks they will be announcing redundancies.

Not a happy time for the armed forces. (Are we still allowed to use the term Armed and Forces nowadays? :frown: )
