You’ll need to be in receipt of GIP bands A, B or C (AFCS Tariff 1-8).

If you already claim PIP it will simply replace it.

If it is a new claim it should be backdated to date of claim.

Thank you for your reply. I have been getting pip for 4 years. my claim go's back as far as 7 years only 2 of them years of claiming pip have I been getting both parts of pip. the question l have would the diffrence be paid ?.
Put in for AFIP, it will just transition from PIP to AFIP. It won’t get backdated as you already received PIP.

I was on DLA and switched to AFIP. Didn’t even notice a difference. It just means you don’t require an assessment every few years.
