Afghanistan - Peacekeeping or Warfighting?

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. What is the definition of our activities in Afghanistan as laid down by those mandarins in Whitehall?

The reason I ask is that I'm looking at insurance and war risks aren't covered in a few policies, whilst peacekeeping is.
  2. DPM

    DPM Old-Salt

    Counter insurgency combined with PSO?
  3. Try and explain that to an insurance company!
  4. We're not legaly "at war" with anyone, so you're probably not going to be legally "warfighting" - but then again I'm not a lawyer. Is there an ALS board?
  5. Most of the time, even if its not 'War-fighting', they get you with the acts of terrorism clause anyway. Tried PAX, might be a bit naff but at least you're covered...............
