  1. Is it possible to reduce ops with and exposure to the ANA without completely defeating the plan of getting these guys fit to take over?

    Serious question.
  2. Can we not just do a midnight evac and let the feckers get on with it?
  3. Short of making OMLT stay inside Mastiffs and use loudspeakers to confer with the Afghans, probably not.
  4. One Royal marine and one member of the AGC.

Doesn't look like things are in a good state for a hand over of power in 3 years.

Reducing ops exposure to ANA and ANP would hardly be benficial to the process; however much time and training is being spent on trying to instill modern, western, methods of soldiering and policing. A country like Afgan' which is still struggling to set up a functioning democratic and judicial process is hardly going to be able to set up procedures to screen volunteers for the ANA and ANP - it is a sad fact that our troops run a high risk of being attacked by those they are trying to train and it will remain so until we withdraw.
