Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. An excellent idea. Railways are the mark of civilisation (don't mention the ones to Auschwitz as they destroy my theory).

How will they get their money back? Lots of people riding on the roof, just like in Slumdog millionaire.
  2. Nehustan

Given the Qinghai–Xizang/Tibet railway, it's not surprising that India is trying to get a footprint as the railway is already planned to connect Tibet and the deep sea ports of Pakistan, thence prospectively on through central Asia and to potentially Moscow, making Eurasia a geopolitical reality rather than just a term used in biological anthropology. If India doesn't get in on this it could leave them both politically and economically emasculated in a theatre that would see their new nuclear toys redundant.
  3. There is already one, its only one way though and exports components to make IED's.
