Advice on Telecoms Careers

Hi there,

I have been a TA signaller/Det Cdr for some time now and I recently came to the conclusion that Telecoms might be the career for me. Visited the various resettlement stuff you find on the internet, Pathfinder etc and they recommend a course I can take in Data Comms, internal and external fibre optic cabling and intro to telecoms plus other health and safety related mandatory stuff.

What I'd like to know from those in the know is what sort of careers in Telecoms I can do and where should I work to get the best pay?

Advice very greatly appreciated

You didn't say which Corp you are in, can we presume it isn't R Sigs?

Try a search of that forum as not surprisingly more than a few of them try that transition route also.

You also didn't mention if you civvie employment had any relevance for telecomms. Do you have any specific type of job in mind as telecommunications is quite a broad discipline?
