Hi all can you please give an insight to discretionary trusts to avoid inheritance tax on property and how you go about putting it in your registered army will.

    Many thanks
  2. I think you will find that discretionary trusts have now been added to the IHT liable assests.

If you were doing something like that then you need to draw up a grown up will with a solicitor.
  3. Yes, sadly ISG, the trust can only help you to limit your IHT liability. Professional advice is a must and I would also recommend you go to a solicitor, accountant or IFA who is a member of STEP (the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) or a chartered tax adviser.
