Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Am posted to Sennelager in the near future. Just wanted to know what the accomodation for L/Cpls is like there and whereabouts on Normandy Barracks it is
  2. The block is called Tingle Tangle
  3. Four Walls roof and door, bed if you are lucky and located either directly above the mess or next to it, or if you are really unlucky the other side of camp! Generally it is OK, betterthan training anyway.

Don't worry your 'tutor' Cpl will look after you and show you EVERYTHING you need to know about :)

Be nice to the RSM and sit down when you go in for your initial interview, he hates discipline, providing that no other seniors are around call him Dave, he prefers that after all gone are the days at barking at newly promoted civvies to get them to respect you, he prefers the adult one to one approach.

Same drills for the Sergeant Major, top bloke and likes the first name treatment, good bunch over there at 110 be nice to them and they will be nice to you - Good Luck :)
  4. Sorry to but in, but is Normandy Barracks PAYD?
  5. Pay As You Die! NAAFI Bloody rip off merchants!
  6. Thanks for the info :D Did you mean that the accomodation is above or next to the Cpls Mess? Looking forward to getting there. Have heard that it's a VERY busy posting and a great place to gain experience.
  7. A ggod posting right enough, although if you want BUSY then Gutersloh is the place, used to come under Sennelager but now run by a seperate company
  8. Hows come GT is busier? There are more barracks (and therefore probably more soldiers) in Paderborn and Sennelager.
  9. Lee take my word for it you will be busy enough in Senny!!

  10. A lot of overtime then huh??!!
  11. Lee, you only get paid a daily rate mate - overtime doesn't happen!
  12. Let me re-phrase that then: Not much time off work then huh??!!
  13. RMPs work all the time mate, free time -- nah!!
  14. So, start work before finishing and get up before going to sleep!!
  15. Lee if you have not yet contacted the unit - unofficially then you should do so. They should be able to answer any questions you may have.
