Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. As we progress as a Corps will the forming Corps Associations ever be merged with the RLC?

Cannot speak for other forming Corps members but I have been in the RASC/RCT Assoc since day 1 week 1. It must have started as the RASC Assoc before my time.

Having spent 20 years in green I've been in the RLC longer than the RCT however those were the formative years. Not trying to discuss where loyalties lie merely where we go from here.

I would like to see the various associations combine to improve "esprit de Corps" and all that but sure there would be a number of reasons why it wouldn't happen. Different Assoc traditions and how much each Assoc can bring to the table to name but two.

    What do you think?

  2. All to do with budgets and cash reserves I would guess.

As far as I was aware, they had merged/were merging soon.

  4. i dont think they will merge. Its not our generation that need convincing.
There are many veterans that cannot change.
You only have o look at some of the old Infantry associations. I will refer mainly to The Buffs. How many people, hand on heart, can tell me without looking it up on internet, who The Buffs were?

Our guys will be the same.
