Abu Hamza appeals against his sentence

I'm not sure if this has made the news across the pond. If the US Government is still keen to extradite him then the outcome of this appeal may have some bearing on it if he is successful. I'm not sure of all the legal technicalities involved under English law. Has this case made the news in the US in the same way that it has here? "Capt Hook" as the British tabloids call Hamza fills the role of caricature moslem fundamentalist here.

He is appealing against his convictions NOT his sentence - differnt kettle of fish entirely. If he wins his appeal the US authorities can carry on with the extradition request - domestic offences always take priority over extradition proceedings.
